Iron Bowl Week!!!

The next game is against alabama on Saturday at 3:30 PM on CBS. If anybody is planning to go to the game in Auburn and wants to meet up with other club members, let Kurt know and he can pass the informaton along.

Please note that ESPN Game Day will be broadcast from Auburn at 9 AM Eastern on ESPNU and at 10 AM - noon on ESPN.

You are invited to watch the game with us at Mikey's American Grill and Sports Bar in University City. They are located at 3200 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia. There is lots of kiosk parking available on Chestnut Street. This place is also about 2 or 3 blocks from 30th Street Station if you want to take SEPTA.

Please let Kurt know if you plan to attend so he can give them an approximate number. Contact him if you have any questions, especially about parking. You can get directions from their website: http://www.mikeysphilly.com/

  Bowl Game - Around New Years, TBD  

At the game watch at Mikey's, we will be raffling off a few prizes. We will sell tickets at $1 each ($5 for six tickets) during the first half. The drawing will be around halftime. For every $5 in raffle tickets that you buy, you can fill out a card to be entered in the "super raffle" drawing for a Gene Chizik autographed football and a Tony Barbee autographed basketball that we will give away at the end of the season. I may have a few other end of year raffle prizes as well. Proceeds of the raffles go to the Philadelphia Auburn Club scholarship fund.

All game watches will be held at Mikey’s American Grill and Bar at 32nd and Chestnut in Philadelphia.  All listed times are Eastern.

Announcements: updated 11/23/11

Auburn defeated Samford on Homecoming by a score of 35-16 on Saturday and moved to 7-4 overall and 4-3 in the SEC. We had about 19 people watch the game with us at Mikey's, and we raised $127 for the Philly Scholarship fund. Thanks to everyone who attended! Michael Dyer ran for 157 yards and a TD on 30 carries. All I know is the Tigers will need to play a whole lot better in the next game.

The alumni association is setting up a way to give our club scholarship a "Commission" when you join or renew your Auburn Alumni Association Membership. Let me know if you are interested in joining or renewing your membership, and I can give you more details. This will be another great way to donate to our scholarship fund.

We also plan to raise money for Philabundance again this year. Please think about making contributions during the Georgia, Samford, and alabama game watches this year. We will make the donation in late November or early December during the WMMR Preston and Steve Campout for Hunger.

In other news, the Auburn men's basketball team plays Seton Hall in Newark, NJ on Friday, December 2nd at 9 PM, and the women's basketball team plays Temple in Philly on Saturday, December 3rd. Please let me know if you are interested in getting tickets to either of those games, I will look at getting a block of tickets. I know that the New York Auburn Club is setting up a pay pal account to buy tickets to the men's game in Newark. More information will follow.

The Phillies schedule is out for 2012, and there will be home series against the Braves on July 6-8 (weekend), August 6-8 (week days), and September 21-23 (weekend). Our group trip to the Phillies-Braves game in May was lots of fun. Let me know if you want to try again next year!
